Due to the prevalence of Bovine TB and possibility of transmission to Humans (zoonotic TB) JHF conducted an Abattoir screening to identify TB cases and link them to anti TB treatment at no cost.
METHOD; In collaboration with Ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture Development and the Adamawa state TB, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme, 5 major Abattoirs across the state were selected for the screening exercise at Ganye, Song, Ngurore, Mubi and Yola main Abattoir, using the Portable MinXray machine which is AI embedded to detect presumptive case.
