  Objectives of the Activity
1. To advocate to key stakeholders on Tuberculosis and the need to improve multi-sectoral collaboration and intensify resource mobilization for optimal TB care and prevention.
2. To Raise Awareness on basic facts about Tuberculosis.
3. To promote community ownership and health seeking in order to improve TB notification.
4. To promotes the adoption of innovations and accelerate action towards optimal TB care and prevention.  
SUMMARY OF ACTIVITY
The world Tuberculosis Day commemoration in Adamawa State started with a meeting held at the Adamawa State Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme (ASTBLCP) office on Monday the 25th, March 2024 where discussions were held on the identification of all the needed support and items required during the WTD commemoration.
ASTBLCP and the Lead CBO, Janna Health Foundation (JHF), coordinated other organization and ministries mark the important day. The Honorable Commissioner for Health and Human Recourses chaired the World TB Day Commemoration. In his message delivered during the WTD, the Adamawa State TB Program Manager (PM), gave a brief highlight of the WTD and its significance. He said that the day is being commemorated to raise public awareness on the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to set up efforts to address the challenges and end the TB epidemic.
While declaring the theme of the day, which is YES, WE CAN END TB with a slogan of “NO GREE FOR TB”, the PM emphatically spoke on some of the interventions being conducted within the State by partners, siting an example with the JHF team who are already carrying out screening in various communities. He further explained the deployment of the Portable Digital CXR equipment works and its importance in easing the diagnosis of TB.
The permanent secretary, Ministry of health and human services, representative of the ministry of women affairs, representative of the WHO, representatives of LTR, Pro-health, SFH, AHNI and other stakeholders spoke at the event. The Hon. Commissioner, spoke strongly on the need for collaboration which makes all programs succeed. In his remarks, he further encouraged everyone to put hands on deck to ensure the TB scourge is fought to the fullest.
Janna Health Foundation conducted an outreach in respect to the World TB Day in five (5) LGAs. The five (5) LGAs are: Yola South, Demsa, Fufore, Gombi and Mayo-Belwa. The total number of people screened during the WTD outreach is 714, total presumptive 132, total cases found 15.

Achievements:     
1. Actively Participated in World TB Day commemoration
2. Successfully conducted outreach in all the 5 LGAs in Adamawa State
3. Increased Awareness Creation to the general public
4. Notified 15 all forms of TB cases
Challenges:   
1. Low turn-out during the outreach due to the fasting period.
2. Accessing remote and hard to reached communities within the limited time frame.
Recommendation:   
 1. Advocacy to major stakeholders for sustained CBO activities   
 2. Advocacy to Stakeholders for more collaboration  
  Conclusion:
The commemoration went on very well with the engagement of many stakeholders, mass awareness carried out, mass TB screening using the portable digital CXR equipment, HIV counseling and testing, presentation of award of excellence and group photographs. This has also increased case notification of TB/HIV and awareness creation/notification on hepatitis B.
